Vancouver Water Adventures is owned and operated by two siblings, Clayton and Jess.

Seven years ago these fresh-faced kids started literally on a hope and a prayer.
They had an old Landover and two jet skis. They also had a Canadian flag.
They stuck the flag on the jeep with a big handwritten sign directing people to come down to the dock and rent a jet ski for an hour. They were the first to offer that adventure in the city.
By the second year they added a few Kayaks on Kitsilano beach. The third year they lucked into a spot on Granville Island. Year four PaddleBoards came on the scene and they decided to try groupon thinking maybe a 100 people might show up but instead 8000 people rented that year.
The latest addition is a crazy thing called FlyBoard. As Clayton explained, “Flyboard is the fastest growing water sport and it is super-super awesome, it feels like flying.”
I know before summer is over I have to experience that adventure…can you imagine flying high in the air on the wings of water?
I have always believed that this city turns on the wheels of the thousands of entrepreneurs in Vancouver and VWA is a prime example of what a small dream and hard work can accomplish. Clayton is a wonderful young man with small town values and big city dreams and it is heartening to see him hold onto his inherent respect for everyone, warmth, and joy in life, while achieving his dreams. This is the Vancouver I know and admire.
Clayton spent most of his life following the thrills – from working on ski hills and snowmobiling in the winter to rafting wild waters in the summer. Twelve years ago he decided to move from his small town in Ontario to mild-weather Vancouver so he could spend more time working outdoors year round. Seven years ago his sister joined him here and they came up with an idea that grew into what it is now – the most iconic things to do while in Vancouver.
