Republican politicians in the U.S. are calling for a boycott of HBO’s popular sword-and-sorcery series Game Of Thrones after noticing scenes in the season one DVD set that featured former President George W. Bush’s severed head impaled on a wooden spike.
The show’s creators say they meant nothing by the detail and just had to use whatever props they had lying around, but Craig Eaton, chairman of the Brooklyn Republican Party was outraged and said: “Think about what people outside the country think when they see…disparaging (of) former presidents.”
Better be careful where in the world you check on what people are thinking. Don’t expect to see any cries of condemnation out of the Middle East or Asia anytime soon.
In fact, the series’ reviews still have a 92% Fresh rating on the website Rotten Falafels.
